Enterprise Cybersecurity Device Engineer

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will be accountable for the device cyber solution stack, ensuring device solution controls are appropriately configured, and continually reducing device cybersecurity risk. You will ensure device solutions, including Antivirus, EDR, or encryption, and their configurations on servers, workstations, and mobile platforms meet Booz Allen’s security standards. This includes developing and promoting configuration policy changes in partnership with the Endpoint Team, monitoring compliance, performing regular assessments to identify and remediate any deviations, and working closely with the device teams to promote cybersecurity culture. You will originate, facilitate, and lead IT and security teams efforts to deploy and maintain device protection solutions, ensuring that all devices are properly configured to defend against emerging threats. Your expertise in device configuration management will be crucial in maintaining a secure and resilient IT environment. Additionally, you’ll partner with cyber threat and security operations to drive threat-informed configurations.

You will perform security reviews based on the security stack philosophies and standards, with a primary responsibility for leading device security outcomes in collaboration with technical sector experts. You’ll provide an integrated security ecosystem to deter, detect, defend, and respond to business-impacting security, operational security, and risk issues related to devices and their configurations.

You’ll leverage skills in independently conducting technical analysis of security and business problems, as well as threats, incidents, investigations, workforce protection, and other general security-related issues. You’ll communicate and participate in coordinating response and defensive actions over a variety of security disciplines, disseminating technical information as appropriate in support of Booz Allen’s critical business, go-to-market, and operational infrastructure needs.

You Have: 

  • 7+ years of experience with device IT solution management, including server, workstation, or mobile

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity solutions

  • Experience in device solution configuration management, including policy creation, configuration tuning, and change management for industry common cyber solutions such as Trellix, CrowdStrike, or BeyondTrust

  • Experience with device cyber logging and building queries to gain a further understanding of configuration control quality, including Splunk

  • Knowledge of system, network, application, and security architectures and cybersecurity solutions

  • Knowledge of key cyber threats, including nation state actors, malware or ransomware, command and control infrastructures, and mitigations, and key cyber processes, including security incident handling, risk posture measurement, and change management 

  • Ability to collaborate with the professional confidence and credibility to effectively engage and interact with technologists and leaders across the enterprise

  • Ability to quickly comprehend complex problems, draw logical conclusions, make sound decisions, develop solutions, and drive closure 

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance 

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience working in the cyber industry, or 7+ years of experience working in the cyber industry in lieu of a degree 

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages

  • Knowledge of the use of databases for reporting, including SQL language 

  • Knowledge of the applications of Artificial Intelligence in security 

  • Ability to design, deploy, and maintain security solutions and configurations in enterprise class organizations with over 10,000 assets

  • IT Engineering Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
