The Opportunity:
As a Platform Lead, you will lead efforts to design, develop, and modernize enterprise systems, applying deep technical expertise in cloud services to architect scalable, secure, and resilient data solutions aligned to mission and business objectives. You will translate operational, business, and technical requirements into modern, cloud-native architectures that improve stability, resilience, performance, and maintainability in a secure manner.
You’ll partner with product owners, engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and cloud teams to translate requirements into cloud-based architectures and guide development teams through implementation. You’ll lead the Data Platform engineering team to build and enhance state-of-the-art data platforms for government clients using cutting-edge, cloud-focused technologies. You'll author, review, and approve data requirements and designs for the platform and data engineering domain, including complex ETL/ELT pipelines, data movement, and automated data orchestration. As the primary administrator for high-performance computing environments, you'll ensure workspace security, cluster management, and cost optimization. You'll also advise on alternative architectures, manage roadmap implementation, and coordinate with solutions teams to support project delivery. You’ll also collaborate with AI teams, maintain thorough documentation, and align Data Platform tools with strategic business objectives.

You Have:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and software architecture
- 8+ years of experience with Java development in cloud environments and SQL development, including relational database design and performance optimization
- 5+ years of experience establishing enterprise-wide Data Platform architecture, frameworks, design, and development standards
- 2+ years of experience architecting or developing solutions using Microsoft Azure cloud services
- Experience leading technical design sessions and delivering architecture documentation
- Experience with data engineering, including designing and managing large-scale complex data pipelines
- Knowledge of Data Platform cloud solutions, including Microsoft Azure platform and its various services
- Ability to design solutions that meet business and IT needs, creating Data Platform and AA/AI roadmaps
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, or CS
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including containerization and serverless computing
- Experience implementing Azure-centric DevSecOps strategies and continuous deployment pipelines
- Experience with Azure-based, event-driven architectures or distributed systems for high-performance applications
- Experience in data-centric AI or ML projects within healthcare, biomedical, or public health sectors
- Knowledge of government public health data architecture and systems
- Knowledge of frameworks enabling AI systems to interact with structured and unstructured public health data
- Ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment
- Possession of excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Master's degree in a related field
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Java Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
