Strategic Communications Specialist, Senior

As a communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization’s desired reputation. We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you who is ready to share their knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll use your consulting skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials.

As a Strategic Communications Specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. You will author news articles, leadership messages, talking points, briefings, fact sheets, social media and website content. You will plan and facilitate engagements such as town halls, meetings, and demonstrations. With your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset, you will develop and implement strategic communications strategies that align to organizational priorities to enable our clients to achieve their mission.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience providing communications support, including news articles, leadership messages, talking points, briefings, fact sheets, and social media and website content

  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of innovative strategies to inspire and progress key strategic communications goals

  • Knowledge of AP style

  • Ability to work with a team and independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Secret clearance   

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or English

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience working with Department of War strategic communications or public affairs

  • Knowledge of graphic design and creative software tools

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possession of excellent data gathering and analysis skills

  • Master's degree

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
