The Opportunity:

Join the AFRICOM Team as an Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Tradecraft Methodologist. You’ll be analyzing and evaluating OSINT/Publicly Available Information (PAI) tradecraft and tools. As an OSINT Tradecraft Methodologist, you will document OSINT/PAI tradecraft to include tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for collection, processing, exploiting, disseminating, and integrating PAI across multiple intelligence disciplines and systems. This position will work intimately with the OSINT collectors to help identify methods, tools, and best practices to improve collection processes for AFRICOM entities--with an emphasis on advanced collection, including command line tools. The Tradecraft Methodologist is the OSINT Subject Matter Expert whom the trained and experienced OSINT collectors turn to when all avenues dead end. You will provide PAI subject matter expertise to AFRICOM collectors and analysts and support to external US and foreign partner engagements.

In this role, you will develop a portfolio of "Data Assessment Report" products and other OSINT products including methodology notes and training slides, to further develop AFRICOM OSINT collection capabilities. You’ll manage access to data sets, tool subscriptions, and associated purchases to maintain capabilities for the collection team.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

  • 4+ years of experience with OSINT

  • Experience with IC analytical writing standards and product publication
  • Knowledge of advanced research methodologies and OPSEC risks associated with PAI collection

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Completed a DoD-approved or commercial vendor OSINT methodology training, including CASO, SANS 497, or MacAfee
  • Active passport with at least 6 months validity for the purposes of visa applications

  • Experience with AFRICOM area of responsibility
