Air and Missile Defense Concepts, Capabilities, and Requirements Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:
Conduct research, analysis, planning, defense design, concept development, requirements, program support, and exercises to facilitate integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) within the United States Air Force Europe (USAFE) and Air Force Africa Command (AFAFRICA) areas of responsibility (AOR). Develop plans to defend against air and missile attack through an integrated mix of passive defense, active defense, and attack operations with supporting battle management, command, control, communications, and intelligence. Provide Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and Joint Operation Planning Process for Air (JOPPA) and air operations planning and operation support to the client mission in the development, planning, coordination, management, and execution of USAFE's IAMD mission and theater objectives. Develop IAMD requirements and program support in addition to supporting functional implementation through experimentation and exercises. Analyze political, military, economic, social information, and infrastructure (PMESII) factors influencing military and political strategy and the planning and execution of military operations within the USAFE AOR. Leverage analytical expertise to integrate USAFE regional strategies into operational planning processes and represent USAFE as the subject matter expert at IAMD conferences and related planning events. Coordinate the development of OPLANS, EXORDS, operational planning team (OPT) participation, and CONPLAN development and provide IAMD operational planning input and research in support of lessons learned and after-action reports.

Basic Qualifications:
-8+ years of experience with air defense, battle management, defensive counter-air, or attack operations

-4+ years of experience with a combination of strategic and operational planning, programming, requirements, and operational analysis 
-Knowledge of IAMD operations and associated weapon systems and tactics
-Active TS/SCI clearance
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience in a Joint environment, including working with Army or Navy air and missile defense 
-Experience as a pilot, Weapon Systems Officer (WSO), Combat Systems Officer (CSO), or Air Battle Manager (ABM) conducting air operations, defensive counter-air, attack operations, or battle management
-Knowledge of European operational plans, air and missile weapon systems capabilities and limitations, IAMD Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), and IAMD doctrine

-MA or MS degree in Operations Research Analysis, Economics, International Relations, Engineering, or a related field
-PMP Certification
