Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consultant

Key Role:

Serve as a strategic consultant for high-risk government research and development programs related to artificial intelligence and machine learning. Work with world-class scientists and engineers to impact national security investment through new development of military applications for cutting-edge technologies. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients. Provide technical management support and strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior DoD decision makers, including conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility of and potential applications for new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials out for government research and development efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with developing algorithms that use machine learning techniques

-3+ years of experience with implementing machine learning algorithms in hardware or software

-3+ years of experience with using tools or frameworks, including Caffe, TensorFlow, or MATLAB

-Ability to be self-motivated and work in a fast-paced environment

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-MA or MS degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Neuroscience, or Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences

-Experience with the development of machine learning systems at the architecture level

-Experience with evaluating machine learning systems in a research environment

-Experience with implementing second or third wave AI-based algorithms

-Experience with finding, curating, and using large datasets

-Experience with technical project or program management

-Experience with DoD research and development projects

-Knowledge of machine learning techniques

-Knowledge of multiple, relevant disciplines

-Ability to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies in support of new concept development

-Possession of excellent client service skills

-Active Secret clearance preferred

-PhD degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Neuroscience, Engineering, or related field
