Azure/AWS Cloud Engineer

Key Role:

Enable the enterprise-wide adoption of next generation Cloud and hybrid solutions with an emphasis on following best practice Cloud security principles. Provide technical leadership by ensuring quality delivery of the full solution life cycle, including application design, test, management, and monitoring. Apply knowledge of Cloud constructs, managed services, and software development expertise to deliver solutions through a diverse set of IaaS and PaaS Cloud environments, including development, test, and production composed of Azure, AWS, and On-Premise. Take ownership of proposed solution from inception to deployment while working within and across business units to comprehend the best solution and its capabilities. Work with experienced technical leads, Cloud, network, and security architects, developers, and DevOps engineers to build well-designed, secure, scalable, and modular services leveraging managed services running in Amazon or Azure. Identify required security controls based on best practices and service provider recommendation and assist with implementation.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with IT, including host, network, and application security

-4+ years of experience with implementing, migrating, managing, and operating applications in an enterprise Hybrid and Cloud computing environment and deploying and supporting workloads in AWS or Azure

-4+ years of experience with all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC)

-Experience with a Cloud SDK language, including one or more of the following: Python, Java, Node.js, or Go

-Experience with developing and testing services using the AWS or Azure CLI

-Experience in developing, securing, and integrating with REST-based Web services

-Experience with Linux and Windows-based systems administration and scripting in Cloud environments

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Cloud design patterns, serverless architectures, and microservices

-Experience with the AWS Cloud computing platform, including Lambda, S3, VPC, EC2, EBS, ELB/Elastic Beanstalk, SQS, Cloud Formation for AWS Orchestration, CloudWatch, and RedShift

-Experience with the Azure Cloud computing platform, including Azure Functions, Event Grid, Storage, vNET, Virtual Machines, Cloud Services, Queue, Azure RM/Policy, Log Analytics, and SQL Data Warehouse

-Experience with automation tools within Cloud environments in production and lower environments, including Chef, Jenkins, Selenium, Cucumber, BitBucket/Git, Artifactory, and Security tools

-Ability to communicate the benefits and tradeoffs of Cloud, hybrid, and on-premises services

-Ability to discuss technical topics with individuals and groups with a wide range of technical backgrounds

-Ability to be goal-oriented with an excellent drive for success
