Clinical Informaticist, Senior

Key Role:

Provide clinical informatics support for an Acquisition Category (ACAT) I Major Automated Information System (MAIS) program for a DoD Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Maintain responsibility for the implementation and usage of DoD information systems required for patient care initiatives. Work with clients to advise on data standards and information system functionality. Provide information on possible end-user impacts from the system.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-Experience with implementing and using the DoD information systems required for patient care initiatives
-Experience with a variety of the healthcare field's concepts, practices, and procedures
-Experience with implementing, training, and optimizing an EHR to support an integrated inpatient and outpatient health system network
-Ability to evaluate applications or vendors to best meet the needs of the DoD EHR system

-Ability to provide technical training and support to DoD EHR end users

-Ability to apply a wide degree of creativity and latitude to daily on-the-job scenarios

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-Physician with MA or MS degree in Health Informatics or board certification in a Clinical Informatics Subspecialty or Registered Nurse with MA or MS in Health Informatics or Healthcare Administration and certification in health informatics or Informatics Nursing Board Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Cerner or the Military Health System (MHS) preferred

-Experience with optimizing EHR systems to support the clinical, business, and operational medicine missions of the DoD

-Experience with the EHR systems of the Department of Veterans' Affairs (VA)

-Public Trust clearance
-PhD in Health Informatics or Healthcare Administration
