Cloud Architect/Network Security Engineer

The Challenge:

We have the technology, but do we know how to use it? In an industry where “Cloud” is sometimes synonymous with “genie,” it’s important to have a leader who knows how to engineer Cloud-based and hybrid on-premise/Cloud-based solutions. That’s why we need you, a lead engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with Cloud based resources, to lead our team as we modernize Army systems.

As a Cloud engineer on our team, you’ll serve as a lead Cloud network and security engineer on an Army project to architect and set up Cloud environments for applications and systems, including leading a team of Amazon Web Services (AWS) engineers to set up an L4 AWS environment for an Army system and perform configurations of an ADC and environment components to comply with IL4 Risk Review and pass ATO and working with Cyber team to obtain CAP and operate in the Army environment. You’ll recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premise, Cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll work with customer, migration teams and Cloud architects to inform strategy and architecture design. This is an opportunity to share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. You’ll stay on top of the latest Cloud resources as you lead efforts to prototype using multiple techniques and new technologies. You’ll be able to broaden your skillset into areas like Army Cloud environments while taking a strategic role in leading the Cloud development of critical systems for Army. As a technical leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to build Cloud solutions to help your customers meet their toughest challenges. You Have:

-4+ years of experience with AWS GovCloud and Cloud architecture

-Experience with setting up F5 or other application delivery controllers for IL2 and IL4 environments

-Experience with setting up AWS GovCloud environments and core network security

-Experience with configuring and patching OSes and other components to comply with Army standards

-Experience in configuring and patching with RedHat and Windows OS

-Experience with setting up DevOps tools for the developers

-Knowledge of AWS services and structures, databases and data backups, and log collection and aggregation tools, including Splunk

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in CS

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with designing independent Cloud-ready applications and systems using open source products.

-Experience with designing implementation solutions to deliver expected business outcomes applying Cloud capabilities, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.

-Experience with development methodologies, including COTS analysis

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including developing technical briefings and whitepapers

Clearance:
