Cloud-Based Splunk Solution Developer

Key Role:

Develop software and build Cloud service offerings that will enable Army mission organizations to take advantage of Cloud technology and automation to reduce data center infrastructure and significantly enhance overall security postures. Solve problems with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast-paced, agile environment and build Cloud solutions from vision to production-ready system. Implement Splunk to provide an audit-as-a service Cloud solution, including the collection of audit data for application layer in the future, processing, and alerting, Splunk app integration, and custom reporting on OS and application audit logs to generate dashboards for stakeholders. Deliver a git repository and use the Red Hat operating system. Leverage development tools, including Confluence, JIRA, and Bitbucket. This position is available for remote delivery with occasional weekly coordination and onsite meetings or full-time work in Charlottesville, VA.

Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with programming, scripting, or markup languages

-5+ years of experience with Java, JavaScript, Bash, Ansible, Puppet, Salt, and Python

-5+ years of experience with Golang, C, C++, C#, XML, HTML, JSON, and YAML

-1+ years of experience with building custom Splunk dashboards and architecting Splunk forwarders, indexers, and search heads for high availability and high performance

-Experience with UNIX or Linux operating systems, command line interface administration, and automating systems administration tasks
-Experience with analyzing and troubleshooting systems issues using system logs, diagrams, and documentation
-Experience with working in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework and developing across an entire stack of technologies, including full stack development

-Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and independently and interface with clients directly

-TS/SCI clearance
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with implementing systems in compliance with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) frameworks, including National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-Series or the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF)

-Experience with implementing continuous monitoring tools
-Experience with CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
-Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
-Experience with Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA Confluence

-Experience with Git
-Experience with Agile development techniques and ceremonies
-Experience with API development and integration
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Splunk Enterprise Certification
