Corporate Social Impact Summer Intern

Key Role:

Assist the firm’s community partnerships or social impact team with planning, implementation, and evaluation of corporate social responsibility (CSR)-related initiatives and events and with engaging employees in volunteerism, fundraising, and related tools and programs. Perform research and analysis on community relations opportunities in a set of key geographic regions to help determine an overall hyper-local CSR strategy aligned to the firm's corporate affairs goals. Collaborate with social impact and other corporate affairs team members to identify employee interests and current community activities, perform an environmental scan to inventory the firm's existing efforts in the target locations, assist with competitive analysis to highlight where other corporations are engaged, and research and identity key community needs and priority social issues to address in the locations that are aligned to the firm's CSR pillars, relationship-management goals, and brand position. Leverage CSR industry resources, including interviewing CSR practitioners outside of the firm for best practices and benchmarking. Develop a plan to introduce new Booz Allen employees to the firm's CSR or social impact program and opportunities to get engaged. Work closely with social media, Web site, media relations, and employee engagement teams to develop and disseminate community involvement content across multiple channels.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with social media for professional purposes

-Experience with prior event or volunteer activity planning

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

-Ability to work with minimal supervision

-Pursuing a BA or BS degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Public Policy with rising junior class status as of May 2019

Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent time management, analytical, problem-solving, and researching skills
