Cybersecurity Engineer, Lead

Key Role:

Lead staff in the evaluation and support of the documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation processes necessary to ensure that information technology (IT) systems meet the organization’s information assurance (IA) and security requirements. Consult on the definition of the organization’s preferred state and risk thresholds and analyze actual state information to assess compliance. Work with agency leaders to codify strategic Cyber objectives into doctrine, policies, and procedures that can help meet defined objectives. Lead staff on the evaluation of computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs to determine if software assurance best practices are followed. Lead staff on maintaining compliance of custom-built software against stated security policies using code-scanning approaches. Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas, work on unusually complex problems, and provide solutions that are highly creative. Provide leadership and mentoring for lower level employees and act as a leader on large programs or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with information security

-8+ years of experience with consulting

-Experience with managing senior-level client relationships

-Knowledge of federal information security practices and guidance, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the Federal Information System Management Act (FISMA)

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

-CISSP or PMP Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with presenting to clients or other decision makers to present and sell ideas to various technical and non-technical audiences

-Experience with pre-sales, proposal, and requests for proposal (RFP)

-Possession of excellent leadership, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

-BA or BS degree in IT, Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field
