Cyberspace Technical Advisor

Key Role

Perform Cyberspace technical advisor duties using knowledge gained from AFIN and AFNET weapons system work to advise and provide technical recommendations to Air Force Operational Planning Teams (OPTs). Serve as a liaison between Air Force clients. Integrate expertise in the CVA/H platform and operational capabilities into OPTs being conducted at Numbered Air Force (NAF), Operations Center (OC), Major Command (MAJCOM), Combatant Command, and Joint levels, as required. Analyze the development of Cyberspace tasking orders (CTO) to support tactical units on mission. Represent client interests in various forums, including operational planning teams (OPTs), incident response teams (IRTs), provincial reconstruction teams (PRTs), ad-hoc meetings, and planning efforts. Assist onboard rotational liaison non-commissioned officers (LNOs) from tactical units. Provide on the job training (OJT) on operating procedures and maintain LNO portal information on Microsoft SharePoint sites on both unclassified and classified networks.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with Air Force or Joint-service Cyber warfare planning or platform management

-Knowledge of Joint Pub 5.0

-Knowledge of the Air Force planning processes

-Knowledge of the Air Force organizational structure with regard to AFIN and AFNET defensive weapons systems

-Ability to generate executive-level products using Microsoft Office

-Ability to brief senior Air Force leadership

-Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision

-Active Top Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with senior DoD civilians, military, and government contractors

-Knowledge of the Cyber Command and Control Mission System (C3MS) weapons system

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including collaborating with counterparts in other organizations and senior levels

-TS/SCI clearance

-BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, MIS, Information Security, or related engineering or technical field preferred; MS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, MIS, Information Security, or related engineering or technical field a plus

-ISC2 Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Authorization Professional (CAP), or Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) Certification or other Cybersecurity-related certifications, including CEH or Pentest


Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
