Environmental Specialist

Key Role:

Monitor and audit company operations on a regular basis to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain required environmental operational procedures to ensure company and employee awareness, comprehension, and adherence to approved health, safety, and environmental practices. Develop and maintain a program for issuing empty and receiving full hazardous waste containers. Coordinate packaging, labeling, and transportation of hazardous waste to an approved treatment, storage, or disposal facility. Review wastewater analytical reports and inspect company facilities to ensure wastewater discharges meet local, state, and federal regulations. Prepare and submit written recommendations to management and necessary government paperwork. Interface with regulatory agencies, as required and provide work leadership for junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with managing environmental projects

-Experience with RCRA compliance and hazardous waste management required

-Experience with identifying needs, developing solutions, and implementing solutions for environmental compliance

-Experience with delivering briefings and presentations to internal and external stakeholders

-Experience with conducting regulatory research and document reviews

-Experience with managing and analyzing large data sets

-Experience with leading the development of client deliverables

-Ability to work at client facilities and assess or assist with environmental compliance

-Ability to complete work with minimal oversight

-BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent written communication skills

-BS degree in Environmental Health Science, Biology, Chemistry, Public Health, Environmental Science, or another closely related field
