GIS Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Design, analyze, and develop geospatial solutions and product specifications for infrastructure, hydrographic, and physiographic features for global geospatial images and vector products. Perform geographic information systems (GIS) analyses on natural resources data. Plan, design, develop, document, and analyze spatial and relational databases. Apply software to manage spatial and related tabular data, build databases by capturing map information with coordinate digitizer, and produce computer map products depicting contents of databases. Locate sources of GIS data and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work under general supervision and follow established procedures. Perform work reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy, and accuracy and contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience in GIS with cartographic, analyst, editor, or database

-Experience with ESRI software applications and spatial analysis, including network analysis, spatial analysis, and 3D analysis
-Experience with the GPS data collection process, field data collection methods, survey techniques, and accuracy standards
-Experience with data management, technical writing, and geodatabases
-Experiences as a user of ESRI’s ArcGIS software suite 
-Knowledge of geography, scientific methods, GIS principles, and the implementation of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE)

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications: (Preferred)
-BA or BS degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Cartography, CS, or a related field

-Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) Certification
-The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Airman with sUAS rating Certification
