Government Relations Executive Branch Consultant, Mid

Key Role:

Provide support for a government relations office, including subject matter expertise in executive engagement strategies, protocol, and defense and veterans’ policy development. Facilitate senior leader engagement strategies with the executive branch, fostering and sustaining relationships with key DoD staffs. Coordinate and maintain executive engagement, preparation of briefing materials, and researching and preparing for high-level presentations. Maintain detailed knowledge and awareness of specific defense and veterans’ policies and regulation concerning key programs areas and monitoring policy and regulation pertaining to business interests.

Basic Qualifications:

-12+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-4+ years of experience as a member of an executive branch senior executive office

-Knowledge of defense policy

-Knowledge of DoD protocol

-Knowledge of DoD executive staff and functions
-Ability to work and produce in a demanding, fast-paced environment
-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualification:

-Experience with coordinating meetings in offices of the Secretary of Defense, service secretaries, the Joint Staff, and other senior military or defense leadership

-Ability to direct office functions to align priorities ensuring the orderly, responsive, and coordinated flow of work related to policy and program decisions

-Ability to translate business requests requirements into achievable goals

-Ability to draft and review senior executive correspondence and briefing materials

-Ability to Implement a tracking system to provide for long-range schedule planning and synchronization of office priorities

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Top Secret clearance preferred
