Infrastructure Architect, Lead

Key Role:
Provide consultation and strategic guidance to a federal agency’s chief enterprise architects, CIOs, and other senior IT staff to help shape IT strategy and infrastructure strategy and direction for large, complex agency IT ecosystems. Work as part of an Enterprise Architecture (EA) program team to analyze key agency EA products, including infrastructure strategy, security policies and implementation, Cloud storage strategy, application or services deployment to elastic compute Cloud, DevOps strategy, enterprise storage strategy, infrastructure life cycle management strategy, continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) processes, techniques under an overarching enterprise, and IT infrastructure strategy. Maintain a NextGen infrastructure strategy for the client through providing input and advice as subject matter expert (SME), including creating the solution architecture or overseeing proofs of concept (POCs) and building multiple software POCs to assess the various needs of the client from the perspective of security, networking, operations, and Cloud infrastructure providers. Provide input and advice as a subject matter expert (SME), including creating a solution architecture or overseeing Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), building multiple storage POCs or highly flexible hyper-converged infrastructure architectures, analyzing storage capacity sizing strategies and best practices, security stacks, such as SiteMinder, and policy decision points, such as Axiomatics, and analyzing the formulation of an incrementally updated infrastructure policy, guidelines, and checklist documents for the enterprise to use. Analyze the development of NextGen Infrastructure strategy and incrementally updated policies, guidelines, checklists, and transition documents for the projects to consult and help them to adopt the best infrastructure that satisfies the technical requirements both at the enterprise level and at organization levels. Provide input on new Internal Reference Manuals (IRMs) or rewrite older ones to enable the formal adoption of the IT infrastructure at the client site.

Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience in producing infrastructure strategy for large organizations with a combination of legacy footprint and advanced infrastructures
-5+ years of experience with creating and developing solution architectures leveraging enterprise storage services, including using traditional storage services, such as NFS, SAN storage, and advanced storage architectures, such as object storage, elastic object storage, or elastic block storage
-3+ years of experience with application monitoring, infrastructure security for large enterprises, including software defined storage and software defined data center, infrastructure as code, NextGen storage, and archive methodology
-Experience with current IT architectural paradigms and concepts, NextGen storage, backups, hyper-converged flexible architectures, IAAS, SAAS, and PaaS or DevOps, including service oriented architecture (SOA), event-driven architecture (EDA), and managed shared services
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with developing infrastructure solution architectures at both the application and organization service levels
-Experience with project, task, or team leadership
-Experience in integrating on-premise infrastructure with Cloud-based infrastructure architectural solutions

-Experience with security frameworks, including AAA, multi factor authentication, and biometrics frameworks
-Knowledge of using Cloud Storage, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps methodologies and tools, including Docker, Chef, or Jenkins preferred
-Ability to plan and execute proof-of-concepts independently
-Ability to develop materials or content for executive-level presentations
-Ability to review or update Cybersecurity documentation and coordinate with Cyber and the NetBackup team on system backup strategy
-Ability to represent the client when dealing with multiple vendors and package the message to the client with ease
-Ability to function at both conceptual and detail levels
-Possession of excellent analytical skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including writing decks and conducting presentations
-Active Secret clearance
