IT Engineer and Project Manager

Key Role:

Work as part of a dynamic team supporting the national capital region's integrated air defense system. Support and maintain multiple IT based systems and sensors and provide project management on new initiatives. Lead the design, integration, operation, administration, and maintenance of a variety of IT systems and supporting infrastructure. Manage installation, maintenance, and upgrades of security system hardware systems and infrastructure on multiple sites across the client. Liaise between stakeholders and clients to support project completion, manage sub-contractors, and coordinate support activities. Monitor and analyze system logs, perform troubleshooting, as needed, participate in evaluating vendor specifications and securing quotations for hardware and software purchases, and manage infrastructure and maintenance projects to completion. Provide system administration and user training and assist with managing property inventory, including software, hardware purchases, and licenses and author documents of site system configurations and network topology. Perform networking activities to meet system requirements for availability and functionality, analyze network activity and performance to identify potential network issues or inefficiencies, and develop and implement corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with designing, upgrading, maintaining, administering, and troubleshooting security systems and networks

-5+ years of experience with designing, upgrading, maintaining, troubleshooting cameras, sensors and IT infrastructure

-Ability to multitask service outages through troubleshooting and analyzing complex issues, providing solutions, and making timely, logical decisions based on client needs

-DoD 8570 Level II Certification, including Security+ or CCNA Security

-Secret clearance required

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications

Experience with creating and maintaining network protocols, architectures, and topologies, designing, researching, developing, and implementing network solutions, and resolving networking issues

Experience or certification in project management

-Experience with maintaining networks

-Experience with providing a 24/7-tiered escalation support model

-Possession of excellent customer service skills, including on the phone, e-mail, chat, and in person

-BA or BS degree in CS or completion of CS studies
