Launch Vehicle Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for leading the technical certification assessment process for the entire engineering team across all geographies. Provide direct technical engineering support to the Vulcan Program Manager (PM–V), Senior Program Manager (SPM), and Vulcan Certification Task Lead (Cert TL–V). Provide engineering direction to the engineering staff and handle engineering issues and concerns and arbiter and approval authority for engineering inputs into the overall certification assessment for the Vulcan program. Support major reviews, including Configuration Control Boards, system readiness reviews, preliminary design review, critical design review, functional configuration audit, and Engineering Review Boards and interface and coordinate with SMC leadership and NASA or NRO. Interface with SEs in geographically dispersed locations, supporting manufacturing and quality management assessments and certification. Approve project engineering and the delivery of associated documentation and technical reviews, risk, test plan reviews, and certification reports. This position is located in El Segundo, California.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with aeronautical or launch system engineering

-8+ years of experience with project or program management

-Secret clearance

-MS degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent leadership and mentorship skills
