Management Consultant, Lead

Key Role:

Apply advanced knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative analysis and recommendations to improve organizational performance through changes to strategy, organization structure, process, human capital or culture, information technology, enterprise cost reduction, management practices, and cost drivers. Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve client performance, including revenue or profitability and mission achievement and contribute to the process for improving operations and increasing process efficiency. Expand or reorganize a business unit or operation, examine complex systems, advise on the development of specific cost reduction solutions and business case analyses to support transformation efforts, and mitigate and manage risk. Conduct customer or stakeholder analyses, provide oversight to a project, and serve as a practitioner with multiple areas of expertise that spans across management consulting pillars and other functional communities. Provide leadership and mentoring for lower level employees. Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas, work on unusually complex problems, and provide solutions that are highly creative. Act as a leader on large programs or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-5+ years of experience with strategy or management consulting

-Experience with strategy design, capability building, and organizational design, assessment, and transformation of client-facing, service-oriented business units 

-Experience with presenting and communicating to teams, executives, and clients, including briefings or decks, leading client, and team-based discussions

-Experience with guiding and facilitating organizations through the adoption of change, including assessing, designing, or implementing organizational design changes

-Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite  

-Ability to independently produce and lead a team in the development of deliverables within a short time frame in a collaborative team environment

-Ability to work in Washington, DC up to 100% of the time

-Public Trust clearance

-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with government, including labor unions

-Experience with visual design or representing ideas visually

-Experience with the design and delivery of administrative services

-Ability to employ Agile practices in the context of implementing a transformation

-Possession of excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

-Possession of excellent facilitation and consensus-building skills at the executive and leadership level

-MA, MS, or MBA degree preferred

-Change Management Certification, including CMAP or Prosci
