Military Plans Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Develop and maintain functional relationships with client supported higher Headquarters (HQ) and adjacent commands, coordinate the execution of the client’s plans to ensure integration with higher HQ and adjacent commands operations and exercise plans, and support existing and future client planning requirements and operations plan (OPLAN) or concept plan (CONPLAN)-specific issues, including specified and implied tasks. Maintain a Regional Installation Support plan and balance operational requirements against available and limited resources effectively. Provide functional analyses and planning products that mitigate vulnerabilities regarding the execution of client operational planning, effectiveness, and readiness, including contingency plans, operational plans, Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEOs) from countries other than Japan, Non-Combatant Evacuation plans from Japan, Humanitarian Assistance (HA) and Disaster Relief (DR) plans, and pandemic or other medical response plans. Assist client staff planners by analyzing the development of supportability assessments to identify capability gaps and seams to support OPLANs and CONPLANs and validate manning documents, including troop to task analysis of existing Courses of Actions (COAs). Analyze client requirements to support existing plans for the reception and onward movement of US-based forces, intermediate logistics staging areas, and sustained base operating support (BOS) and airfield operating support (AOS) activities and p recommended changes and improvements to NEO and HA and DR analysis. Support general planning efforts, including plan reviews and the coordination of publications and orders and facilitate client working groups (WGs), planning meetings (PMs), and operational planning teams (OPTs) regarding operational planning. Participate in other client events, including plan, order, or document reviews, when requested.

Basic Qualifications:

-5 years of experience with deliberate planning and Marine Corps planning processes
-5 years of experience with higher headquarters operations
-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

-Completion of Formal US Marine Corps Air Ground Task Force Operations Schooling

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with large and complex projects

-Experience with supporting multi-functional teams delivering across multiple task areas

-Possession of excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
