Mine Warfare Exercise Planner, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as the lead planner for global naval Mine Warfare (MIW) exercises, including routine fleet scheduled exercises and standalone exercises in support of tactics development or system evaluations. Develop approved command exercise objectives, identify US MIW force participants, coordinate with coalition countries on participation of their MIW forces, as appropriate, and create the general MIW scheme of maneuver to meet planned objectives. Interact with stakeholders and cognizant POCs to ensure exercises achieve strategic objectives in global mine warfare commander battle staff sustained engagement planning, validation of operational and contingency plans, unit level training and certification, and emerging technology experimentation requirements. Provide exercise planning, logistics, and administration, including exercise design, scheduling of forces and ranges, preparation of exercise mine-shape requests, coordination of deployment and recovery of exercise mine shapes, and drafting of all administrative briefs and written exercise reports.

Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience with Navy fleet operations, training, and readiness management

-Experience with the Navy Planning Process (NPP)

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

-Qualification as a Navy Surface Warfare Officer, Navy Air Mine Countermeasures (AMCM) Mission Commander, or Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer 

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with organizing and facilitating major exercise planning conferences

-Experience with Mine Warfare Environmental Decision Aid Library (MEDAL) and Mine Net Tactical

-Experience with Littoral Combat Ships (LCS)

-Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
