Multimedia Scientific Communications Specialist

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for providing direct communication materials management support to the client's leadership team and others, as needed. Work with client leadership and personnel to maintain and distribute science communication materials in multiple formats analyse the establishment of processes, training materials, and other required documentation to manage client communication materials and any inventory thereof. Maintain updates to processes, training materials, and other required documentation. Provide training on communication materials processes per request and interface with officials external to the client's organization regarding the warehousing inventory of communication materials to ensure just-in-time delivery. Leverage compelling visual materials, graphics, animations, and written content consistent with client's organization messaging for requested science communication deliverables. Interact with sources internal and external to the client's organization to obtain and leverage the latest science information and multimedia resources for any requested science communication deliverable and coordinate closely with client's science communication team at client headquarters and client field centers on agency-wide strategic communication efforts. Maintain and curate a library of multimedia content, including slides, images, movies, and archived presentations, which can be searchable and used as a resource for all of the client's organization.

Basic Qualifications:
-11+ years of experience in working with scientific concepts required

-Ability to use standard text, graphics, and video software programs

-Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Premier Pro on PC and Mac

-BA or BS degree in English, Communications, or Public Affairs

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of the client's earth and space science programs preferred

-Ability to use the principles of project management to support a diverse portfolio of science communications projects

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills including effectively telling a story in a manner that allows the speaker to connect with a unique audience
