Network Systems Engineer

Key Role:
Provide engineering and testing, research, and evaluation support, including monitoring, analyzing, detecting, and responding to Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks. Configure and manage a variety of networking infrastructure components, including Linux servers, embedded networking devices, various security appliances, and other ancillary networking components, including DNS, Web, and proxy servers. Work in a dynamic and unstructured environment, determine resources needed to accommodate new test requirements, and apply knowledge of CNE concepts and tools. Provide operational support, including conducting tool testing in an operational environment and coordinating and resolving issues with vendors and other appropriate personnel. Develop and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to the investigation and resolution of complex project requirements and technical specifications for software development projects. Apply expertise in installation, configuration, and administration of Linux devices to support Cybersecurity solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with network equipment and operation lab management
-Experience with administering a variety of Linux platforms, including Debian, RedHat, and Ubuntu
-Experience with scripting languages, including Bash, Perl, or Python
-Experience with configuration and administration of a variety of embedded network routers and switches, including both consumer and enterprise grade
-Experience with network information security methodologies
-Experience with managing or supporting the product development life cycle
-Knowledge of configuration management practices
-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required
-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:
-Ability to be a self-starter and work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing requirements that support the client mission
-Ability to be a team player and work collaboratively with a diverse team and independently with minimal supervision
-Ability to travel to support periodic technical exchange meetings, program reviews, and system testing
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-BA or BS degree in Computer Engineering, CS, or a related field preferred
-MCSE, CCNA, or CISSP Certifications a plus
