Open Architecture Platform Associate Engineer

The Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop a platform that will have an impact on Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), including monitoring, management, disaster recovery, security compliance or auditing, networking, storage, service brokers, and build packs? Solid platform development is a critical part of any program’s success and you know how to do it right – scalable design with baked in security. That’s why we need you, a developer with the skills to build a platform that will transform DoD industry.

As a platform developer on our team, you’ll design and develop the core delivery pipelines for the deployment of containerized solutions and equivalent products in the client’s infrastructure as a platform for our project from end to end. You’ll work with customers and end-users to understand their mission, current architecture, and security requirements. With a focus on the customer’s goals, you’ll build a design that will scale to meet their evolving needs. Your technical expertise will be vital as you recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and new technology. Your design will set the standard for future development, so you’ll craft an architecture that smoothly works with existing infrastructure without compromising security. As a technical leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to build platform based solutions to help your customers meet their toughest challenges. This is a chance to use your deep OS knowledge and broaden your skillset into areas like IaaS, PaaS, and equivalent industry trends. You Have:

-5+ years of experience with release management or production operations and working on or leading teams performing systems automation and integration, including leveraging an agile methodology or lean techniques

-5+ years of experience with client-facing consulting

-3+ years of experience with IaaS, including vSphere, ESXi, AWS, OpenStack, Azure, or GCP as well as Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, TeamCity, and other continuous integration tools

-Experience in production systems and dealing with production issues

-Experience with Confluence and JIRA

-Experience with using scripting and programming languages to automate frequently executed activities

-Knowledge of Linux, UNIX, and Windows systems

-Knowledge of network technologies and equivalents, including load balancing, DNS, SSL, and firewalls as well as Cloud service and deployment models

-Active TS/SCI clearance

-BS degree in EE, ECE, CS, or CIS ​

Nice If You Have:

-3+ years of experience with Chef, Puppet, BOSH, or related automation or orchestration tools

-Experience in working with NTP, SAML, oAuth 2, or Active Directory

-Experience with PaaS products, including Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or similar

-Experience with software development or DevOps a plus

-Knowledge of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics, including NewRelic, AppDynamics, Cacti, Graphite, Logstash, Nagios, Ganglia, Splunk, vROPS, or Datadog

-Knowledge of SRE or CRE concepts, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets a plus

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
