Open Architecture Systems Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Conduct a variety of engineering tasks related to the development, operation, and maintenance of complex technology systems. Ensure integration of processes of methodologies to ensure performance of total system. Leverage training in a variety of technical disciplines, such as electronics, software, and mathematical and scientific specialties. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments and contribute to the advancement of industry knowledge in the area of expertise. Solve the most complex technical problems of critical importance to the organization's technical direction. Serve as an expert in the field and lead development and implementation of key technologies for the organization.


Basic Qualifications:

-20 years of experience as a senior system engineer

-Experience as a chief engineer, chief architect, or lead system integrator on large complex research and development projects

-Experience with systems and software engineering processes, including project execution experience applying systems and software engineering processes

-Knowledge of Air Force intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems

-Knowledge of information technology, open architecture standards, and related military systems

-Knowledge of virtual computing, VMWare, and Cloud technology

-Ability to lead development teams and develop code in Windows and Linux environments

-Ability to lead the development of software documentation, such as user manuals, interface documents, software design descriptions, and software test plans or procedures

-Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Open Architecture Development and Integration

-Ability to interface with senior leadership and executives and USAF government clients

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-TS/SCI clearance preferred

-MA or MS degree preferred

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
