Operations and Mathematical Modeling Research Analyst

Key Role:

Serve in the quantitative analysis field and work with senior staff to resolve a wide range of operations research (OR) issues. Develop solutions by demonstrating and applying expertise in OR. Analyze the refinement, design, and development of systems requirements, map input and output processes, capture relationships amongst parameters of complex systems, and develop measures of system health and performance. Develop predictive models of system performance and guide decision makers towards optimal design. Leverage modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematical techniques, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines in determining solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with quantitative analysis or modeling

-Experience with developing requirements for and building statistical or simulation models

-Experience with scripting or scientific languages, including Python, Java, C++, MATLAB, @RISK, ARENA, CPLEX, NETICA, EXTEND, or R

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with FOSS and COTS products in statistics, Monte Carlo or discrete event simulation, ETL processes, and quantitative workflow automation

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access

-Ability to consult with non-technical audiences on technical problems, work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment, and balance long and short-term tasking

-Ability to take poorly defined problems and convert them into questions for which practical solutions can be defined

-Ability to exhibit flexibility, initiative, and innovation to succeed in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment to compose client deliverable quality documentation, analysis, and reports

-Ability to be detail-oriented and organized

-MA or MS degree preferred; PhD a plus

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
