Project Management Consultant

Key Role:
Provide direct support to meet combatant command (CCMD) strategic- and operational-level exercise objectives. Design, develop, and apply a variety of project management processes that coordinate and synchronize public affairs planning efforts. Develop a project management solution that delivers clearly communicated milestones, travel schedule, and budget impacts to senior leadership. Design analytics-based status reports to inform client leadership of project developments. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of public affairs planning initiatives and provide actionable, clearly communicated recommendations to support client strategic planning and operational decisions. Attend working groups, conferences, and meetings in support of Joint planning and public affairs requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with working in the DoD as a military, civilian, or contractor in a Joint or combined HQ, major command, or higher headquarters

-Experience with using project management tools, including Microsoft Excel, Project and Access

-Experience with applying knowledge and information management best practices to enhance information flow

-Ability to be a highly flexible self-starter capable of operating in a high-tempo environment under less than ideal time-management conditions

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

-PMP Certification

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with implementing communication synchronization at a Combatant Command, Component Command, or Service level

-Knowledge of Joint staffing functions and actions
-Possession of excellent analytical skills at strategic and operational levels

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent research and organizational skills

-BA or BS degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field preferred; MA or MS degree in Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field a plus

-Completion of Defense Information School (DINFOS) Training preferred

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
