Quality Assurance Engineer

Key Role:
The Charleston Digital Hub of Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Assurance Engineer in the Charleston, SC area. The Charleston Digital Hub is a software development hub of Booz Allen that operates and executes much like a fast-paced startup within the larger organization. Quality Assurance Engineers strive to make our applications become the very best they can be. It’s their job to hunt down the broken, track the missing, and resolve all issues to help us achieve software perfection.

A normal day in the world of QAE would include:

-Leveraging test automation and writing overarching unit tests to cover sections of project functionality

-Writing automated test tools to enhance the productivity and capability of the test teams

-Participating in customer reviews and other project meetings

-Providing estimates for project proposals

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with test and automated testing

-Experience with programming and scripting

-Experience with test methodologies, QA process, software release cycle, test effort estimation, and tracking

-Experience with object-oriented programming concepts and database fundamentals, including SQL

-Knowledge of at least one development language, including Java, C++, or C#

-Knowledge of operating systems and networking, release procedures, and software defect tracking

-Ability to live in the Charleston, SC area or be willing to relocate

-Ability to apply appropriate test methodologies, including writing test plans and test cases

-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Agile and Scrum software development methodologies preferred

-Experience with Web Service or automated testing a plus

-BA or BS degree
