Shore ATC Electronics Technician

Key Role:

Provide engineering technician support of Shore Landing Systems (LS), including Shore Instrument Carrier Landing System (ICLS) and Civil Instrument Landing System (ILS). Support Shore LS technical analysis, integration, installation, testing, training, documentation, and onsite technical support for all systems and equipment within the Navy's Shore LS portfolio. Review current system specifications and functional description documentation and prepare requirements analysis report. Interpret higher level requirements and derive lower level functional, performance, maintenance, and training requirements related to Air Traffic Control and LS (ATC&LS). Assist with the performance of system integration from initial planning, design, and installation, through verification and acceptance testing phases. Perform analysis and verification of training requirements and system specifications to ensure test-ability, completeness, consistency, and technical accuracy of training curriculum. Provide technical support for the development of training material and provide on the-job-training to technicians and operators. Provide onsite technical support during testing, initial fielding, and operational use of systems by the fleet.

Basic Qualifications:

-8 years of experience in performing engineering technician functions with military or FAA radar or landing systems

-Experience with electronics, avionics, mechanics, or engineering technology

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Military or FAA landing systems, including ILS, ICLS, or TACAN

-Experience with component and system-level testing

-Experience with training curricula and on-the-job training

-Experience with requirements development and analysis

-Experience with leading a team of technical professionals

-Knowledge of project management processes and procedures

-Knowledge of Navy acquisition and procurement procedures

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Completion of a technical or trade school in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, or engineering technology
