Strategy and Policy Analyst

Key Role:

Analyze the development of strategy, policy, doctrine, and military plans focused on homeland defense, civil support, and security cooperation missions. Assist with the development of operating concepts, campaign plans, and supporting briefs and analyses by performing research, course of action analysis, and coordination among key internal and external stakeholders. Prepare briefings and reports on analysis methodology and results.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with operating on a Combatant Command, Joint, or Service headquarters staff

-5+ years of experience with developing and assessing strategy and policy directed by the unified command plan, Joint strategic campaign plan, national security strategy, national defense strategy, national military strategy, and other strategic documents

-Experience with coordinating military issues, concepts, and doctrine with other US government agencies or foreign militaries

-Ability to respond accurately and quickly to internal and external staff taskings, develop and coordinate detailed staff packages, develop concise reports for briefings, and deliver them to senior DoD leaders

-Ability to team build and gain consensus on complex issues

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with supporting military theater security cooperation or equivalent US government programs, including conducting research, analysis, and experimentation into strategy, policy, plans, and technologies or tools that are relevant, including national or strategic, operational, and tactical or unit level guidance

-Experience with conducting studies, analyses, evaluations, military utility assessments, and capabilities-based assessments and use the outcomes to enhance plans and other strategy or policy documents

-Experience with homeland defense and defense support of civilian authorities’ missions

-Knowledge of DoD Joint Publication development and update processes

-Ability to display fluency in the Spanish language

-MA or MS degree in International Affairs

-Completion of US Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS)
