As a systems engineer on our team you will have the opportunity to participate in the National Science Foundation’s United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Your skills in systems architecture and software programming will be vital when developing hardware and software solutions to meet your customer’s needs. You will gain experience in operational meteorology and air traffic control systems while supporting the safe conduct of USAP flight operations on the Antarctic continent. You will be a valued member of a small team of highly skilled engineers where your contributions will be critical to the team’s success. You will gain valuable experience designing and fielding meteorological and communications systems in harsh, remote environments. You Have:

-3+ years of experience as a systems engineer

-Experience with computer programming

-Ability to deploy to harsh Antarctic and polar environments occasionally in severe weather and climate conditions

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in an Engineering- or Computer-related field

-DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with Java, Python, C/C++, or C#

-Experience with Version Control Systems

-Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux 7

-Experience with Windows Server 2012

-Experience with VMware virtualization technology

-Experience with TCP/IP networks

-Experience with RS-232 serial data communications

-Experience with MS SQL database

-Experience with Web application technologies, including HTML5, Apache, JavaScript, or Node.js

-Knowledge of meteorological data systems

-Knowledge of air traffic control systems
