Systems Engineer, Mid

The Challenge:

We’re looking for a systems engineer who can develop the right systems and translate real-world needs into technical specifications for your customer's environment that will stand up to even the most advanced cyber threats.

As a systems engineer on our project, you’ll you have the chance to analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to validate and test system requirements in support of a major DoD customer program. Your technical expertise will be vital as your team works to modernize the client’s overarching key management architecture by incorporating new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. You’ll develop your skills in key management and security and systems engineering while growing your experience by working with a team of program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

You Have:

-7+ years of experience as a system engineer

-Experience with providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware or software systems

-Experience with requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, systems requirements reviews, concept of operation and interface standards development, system architecture development, risk assessment and quantification, technical or non-technical assessment and management, and end-to-end flow analysis

-Experience with developing scenarios or threads and an operational concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment that satisfies operational, support, maintenance, and disposal needs

-Ability to derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements that describe in detail the functions that a system component must fulfill, ensure these requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable, and generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions

-Ability to define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products are verified against their requirements in a written plan

-Ability to set-up, configure, maintain, and operate key management systems in a lab environment

-Ability to translate operational scenarios and issues in to repeatable test procedures to replicate issues and then perform system level testing to validate any fixes in against new software baselines in a lab environment

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree in Systems Engineering, CS, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or Engineering Management

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with key management

-Experience with debugging and modifying existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve its performance

-Experience with legacy and modernized key management solutions

-Experience with satellite communications

-Experience with Agile development and test methodologies

-Experience with communications security (COMSEC) management

-Ability to brief technical topics to non-technical staff

-Ability to gather requirements from project teams and determine priorities

-Ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and team-oriented environment and balance long- and short-term tasks

-Ability to exhibit flexibility, initiative, and innovation

-Ability to travel locally and CONUS 10% of the time

-Possession of excellent organizational skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
