Technical Writer, Mid

Key Role:

Lead efforts in documenting engineering plans, reports, process documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for expeditionary and operations systems. Analyze the creation of Test and Evaluation (T&E) plans and procedures and perform deficiency reporting. Lead the documentation of system design documents, Technical Data Packages (TDPs), and support Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) documentation. Maintain responsibility for the organization and management of technical libraries of literature, research, and manuals for relevant systems. Lead technical reviews, writing, editing, illustration, and graphics support, word processing, and proofing on mid to large-scale programs with a team of mid and junior level technical writers. Work with T&E, design, and electrical engineers to document engineering efforts in a team environment.

Basic Qualifications:

-6+ years of experience in the technical engineering documentation field

-Experience with leading technical documentation programs in a Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) environment with military clients

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with weapons systems, platforms, or munitions, including prior work supporting Expeditionary Marine or Forces preferred
-Experience with developing and managing a technical library a plus

-Experience with documentation development for systems down to the technical component, software, firmware, and interface level a plus
-Ability to work with sensor and communications systems or military aerial, ground, and waterborne vehicles and their related documentation a plus
