Technical Writer

Key Role:

Assist the testing lead with the development of software test plans, procedures, and reports, including researching software change logs and developing test procedures to validate functionality. Research, develop, and write content for printed manuals, documentation, and supporting materials for software, hardware, technical procedures, and computer-related services. Prepare and maintain documentation relating to systems, programming, and operations following government policy, instructions, and standards for technical publications. Update specific technical documentation to adhere to government standards. Develop SOVTs for System Level, Platform Level, and Integrated Intermediate-Level (I-Level) standardized formats. Develop test plans, test reports, PICOs, PITCOs, and other similar documentation. Provide reports of documentation progress, status, and issues. This position will require the ability to travel up to 25% of the year and work overtime or weekends, as needed.

Basis Qualifications

-10+ years of experience with programs, administration, or technical writing

-Knowledge of data center design, including systems, storage, and networking

-Knowledge of information technology and MIS

-Knowledge of 2 or more of the following areas: Enterprise storage platforms from EMC and NetApp, network storage, including iSCSI, FCoE, CIFS, or NFS, basic network administration and firewall access control lists, Windows administration or engineering, VMware vCenter or vSphere administration or engineering, database administration or engineering using Oracle 10g or 11g, and security posture administration or engineering

-Ability to work with data center design, including systems, storage, and networking

-Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree required

-Ability to display a sense of urgency, including self-governance on task priority

-Ability to learn with a quality, detailed-focus is essential

-Ability to development continuously and improve continuously

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-8570.01 Compliance IAT Level II Certification preferred
