Waveform System Engineer

Key Role:

Assist with technical program management PdL waveforms. Perform design trade studies, produce radio system documentation, and perform other analysis and design work under the direction of the PdM waveforms chief engineer (CHENG) and relevant assistant product managers. Verify requirements for cryptographic system, radio frequency engineering, internal JTRS radio software, and software development needs as it pertains to the waveforms portfolio. Provide support to product manager waveforms related to Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW), Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW), Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS), enterprise over-the-air management (eOTAM), and JTRS standards API/SCA systems engineering, product development and technical analysis in the development of enterprise network services, and waveform products. Work on wireless communications systems technologies, using software defined radios (SDRs) interfacing with outside Army organizations for test and evaluation. Leverage expertise in the waveforms used radio products, waveform and radio-related software, and network management tools to provide technical advice to government leadership. Enable effective oversight of communications system contractor, participate in software development and maintenance efforts with other organizations.

Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience with software development, quality assurance, testing, or system design for major military programs

-Experience with Army or DoD C4ISR community techniques and practices

-Experience with cryptographic principles, radio frequency and radio engineering, and software development

-Knowledge of IP networking, wireless and wired networks, network design, and configuration, mobile networks, and network theory

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with software configuration management, including source code, technical documentation and requirements, and configurations

-Experience with DoD 5000.02 standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures and DoD contracting processes

-Experience in producing presentations summarizing technical concepts for program management

-Experience executing or witnessing software testing, developing test plans and procedures and in reviewing test documentation.

-Knowledge of wireless communication product architectures.

-Knowledge of embedded systems using General Purpose Processors (GPP), DSP, and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)

-MA or MS degree in Engineering, CS, EE, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering or science field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
