Network Engineer/Information System Administrator, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as the lead network engineer and network administrator for a DoD program. Provide continuing system design, administration, optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance on a variety of network devices and appliances on a highly complex network. Maintain responsibility for supporting government personnel, including ensuring system designs and configurations comply with federal, DoD, DoN, and command policies, such as Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, and Net-centricity and complete or assist with the completion of these scans. Analyze and recommend integrated security system solutions that ensure proprietary or confidential data and systems are protected and provide technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions. Interface with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs. Configure and validate secure complex systems and test security products and systems to detect security weakness. Provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience as a network engineer or administrator, including requirements management, design, development, and testing

-Knowledge of firewalls, routers, and switches, including Layer 2 and Layer 3, IDS/IPS, and VPN
-Knowledge of management network configuration, VLANs, and subnetting
-Knowledge of FISMA, DoD, and DoN information security doctrine
-Knowledge of system and software architecture practices, tools, and methodologies

-Secret clearance

-DoD 8570 CompTIA Certification, including Security+ and equivalent technical or OS certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as a system administrator and system engineer for Windows–, Linux–, and UNIX–based operating systems

-Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows 10, RedHat Linux (RHEL) 5, 6, and 7, Macintosh OSX, and HP–UX operating systems

-Ability to navigate the management interface of networking technologies, including firewalls, routers, and switches

-Ability to troubleshoot technical problems on a variety of technologies

-BA or BS degree
