RC-135 Instructor/Airborne Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Instruct US Air Force students of the crew duties and responsibilities for the RC–135 airborne system engineer position. Prepare students to provide the best possible mission system for operators to accomplish their mission by repairing and maintaining mission systems and equipment. Prepare and deliver a course of airborne instruction scenarios, evaluate training, and develop training to meet current and evolving needs, including liquid cooling system, electrical power distribution, emergency equipment and procedures, navigation and timing signals distribution, aircraft interphone communication systems, maintenance test and support equipment, data storage systems, aircraft networking, operator workstation troubleshooting, and operation, audio, video, and signals distribution. Develop and provide position and mission training to ASE 1 trainees and other airborne positions for RC–135 training activities. This position is located in Omaha, NE.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience as a Level 1 1A3 airborne systems engineer instructor

-Experience with crew coordination expertise

-Ability to perform airborne training activities

-Ability to display 500 hours’ airborne time as a Level 1 1A3 airborne systems engineer

-TS/SCI clearance

-HS diploma or GED


Additional Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with RC–135 aircraft networking

-4+ years of experience with RC–135 computer maintenance and troubleshooting

-4+ years of experience with RC–135 COMINT collection equipment maintenance and calibration

-2+ years of experience with Air Force (AF) airborne system engineer instructor

-Experience as a Standardization and Evaluation (STAN/EVAL) examiner

-Experience with AF information and communication networks

-Knowledge of the RC–135 enterprise

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-AA or AS degree preferred

-Completion of an FAA Class 3 or current Military Class III Flight Physical

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
