Tier I Network Administrator

Key Role:
Provide monitoring, maintenance, and advanced support for voice, data, or video communications networks across the enterprise on the mid-shift. Maintain responsibility for providing first level resolution and customer support to all customer managed networks. Use customer outage tracking software and document all critical network or VTC outages accurately. Analyze the development of the policies and procedures, as they pertain to the network environment. This position requires the ability to conduct shift work in a 24/7 work center.

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with identifying, analyzing, and resolving operating or hardware network system problems
-Experience with using GEM for monitoring and configuring crypto equipment and WAN circuit technologies, including T1, DS3, OC-3, OC-12, and OC-192
-Experience with managing the enterprise network for resource availability
-Knowledge of basic network troubleshooting techniques
-Knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols and LAN and WAN troubleshooting
-Ability to report all outage notifications and network issues per standard operating procedures
-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph prior to start
-HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of experience with network engineering, AA or AS degree and 4+ years of experience with network engineering, or BA or BS degree and 2+ years of experience with network engineering

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with the following tools: HPNA, HP NNMi, Putty, Splunk, SharePoint, GEM, WhatsUpGold, Tivoli, Cisco IOS, Support Web Incident Tracking System, and various network monitoring and analysis tools, as required
-Ability to adapt to a 24/7 work environment
-Ability to work independently within a team concept
