Advanced Energy Technologies Investment Portfolio Strategist

Key role:
Advise clients on the commercial aspects of $30-$60 million-dollar portfolios of public-sector investments focused on the development and, ultimately, commercialization of advanced energy technologies. Provide Booz Allen’s core client set which offers exceptional opportunities to engage at a high level with the technical, investment, and regulatory ecosystems that influence the development and market penetration of next generation energy production, storage, and end-use technologies. Support and manage high value investment programs intended to support US national interests by translating technical concepts into business concepts, without immediate revenue and profitability requirements typical of industrial and venture capital-driven technology development initiatives.


Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with performing techno-economic and market assessments that provide authoritative, actionable insights that enable sound portfolio decision-making

-Experience with crafting project-level strategies and management approaches that optimize the impact of investment portfolios in partnership with doctoral subject matter experts

-Experience with supporting agency-wide strategic initiatives, including research and analysis that enable executive leadership to scope and execute cross-cutting programs and strategies

-Ability to apply technical, market, and subject matter expertise to the seeding and development of publicly-financed research and development programs

-Ability to perform direct, periodic oversight of portfolio projects, from set-up to close-out, aiding clients and manage projects towards clear and compelling outcomes

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-5-10 years of experience with consulting, industry, finance, or technology development

-Knowledge of the technical, business, market, and policy landscape related to one or more disciplines in energy efficiency, fossil energy, and renewable energy

-Ability to develop and maintain a broad, collaborative network

-Ability to display intellectual curiosity and a commitment to energy innovation

-Ability to transition across diverse subject matter areas

-Ability to show a poised, collaborative working style

-Ability to travel domestically to project team sites

-MBA or MA or MS degree in a related technical field preferred; PhD degree in a related technical a plus
