Aeroballistics Engineer

Key Role:

Develop integrated guided munitions guidance, navigation, and control algorithms. Develop distributed information filters for GPS denied navigation based on multiple inertial measurement units (IMU). Develop optimal guidance laws, Kalman filters, and sensor fusion algorithms. Design optimal and robust autopilots using adaptive control, H-infinity optimal control, or intelligent control. Develop mathematical models of navigation sensors and actuators. Develop swarm control algorithms for collaboration of unmanned flight systems, including guided projectiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. Reconstruct flight trajectories using wind tunnel and live fire test data.


Basic Qualifications:

-2 years of experience with guidance, navigation, and controls algorithm development and analyses

-Experience with Virtual and Constructive simulation development and the use of these simulations for flight performance predictions

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-PhD degree in ME or Aerospace Engineering.


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with developing and presenting complex technical information via briefings, technical papers, and project task reports

-Experience in scientific programming with C, C++, MATLAB, or Simulink
