Aircraft Foreign Military Sales Air Vehicle Engineer

Key Role:

Review and analyze the engineering design and development efforts of the F-35 air system and air vehicle (AV) mission system engineering and development, integrity testing, reliability testing, and failure root cause analysis that may lead to the redesign of aircraft components or the addition of scheduled or unscheduled maintenance activity. Review and analyze safety of flight, full life qualification testing, reliability testing, and flight test failures that impact the reliability of the F-35 series of aircraft and the re-design and development of aircraft airframes, including the Low Observable (LO) design, AV, and Mission System Line Replaceable Components (LRCs). Apply technical expertise in the Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCMA) development and the Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) development efforts. Conduct design reviews for the maintainability of the F-35 series of aircraft and assist with analyzing F-35 modeling efforts for sortie generation rate, logistic foot print Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), impacts to maintenance manpower spaces per aircraft, and mean time to repair, including the LO design. Support the Interim Flight Clearance review and assessment for airworthiness and Safety of Flight (SOF) and analyze and review processes, plans, and instructions to support various phases of the F-35 program. Provide coordination support between the AV Integrated Product Team (IPT) and across F-35 and F-35 contractors and government stakeholders. Assist with the planning, development, and coordination for remaining technical reviews, including test, production, and sustainment readiness reviews on the F-35 program.

Basic Qualifications:

-6+ years of experience in an engineering role

-5+ years of experience with aircraft design, integration, or modification, including aircraft structures, electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems, and airborne weapons systems integration

-Secret clearance required

-BS degree in ME, Aeronautical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
