Application Developer

The Challenge:

There’s not an app for that…yet.  For you, the call of duty is to study the problem, deconstruct, reconfigure, and create new applications to achieve mission goals.  Fixed or mobile, your solutions will directly impact the effectiveness of the nation’s intelligence mission.  The reality is, we have opportunities for virtually all kinds of app developers, and if running people through real-life scenarios sounds like a game you’d like to play, we have a seat for you.  Your skills will lead you across all platforms, as you conduct vulnerability analysis and develop software, but you’ll also work with teams of reverse engineering and embedded developers when necessary.  This is one time to proudly proclaim being “a solid C/C++ student with a firm Java habit,” since you will be using one or both while you full-stack develop, low-level program, and analyze protocol (along with other tech like PHP, Java Script and Docker).  Bring your security clearance and your developing appetite—because here, the characters you’re saving have real lives and are risking it daily.

The Perks:

You’ll have the opportunity to connect in Communities of Excellence with others doing similar work, because we know that creativity is contagious, and when you don’t have to recreate the wheel, you can focus on new challenges.  Benefit from our Digital University, an online learning portal where you can access more than 5000 tech courses, certifications and books.  Be empowered by our latest tools and technology, or take advantage of our tuition assistance. Take your creative ideas to the next level by applying to our Tech Innovators Program, which offers funding and time to explore your own interests.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with software system requirements analysis, design, development, integration, or testing
  • Developed software applications, including C/C++ and UNIX or Linux for 3+ years
  • Worked in a testing environment for at least 3 years, including experience in script writing using Perl, Python, or C Shell
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Earned your Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with vulnerability analysis or exploit development
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Experience with developing software in a cross-compiler environment for architectures, including ARM, MIPS, or PowerPC

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
