Audit Readiness Associate, Mid

Key Role:

Apply knowledge of financial management, accounting, or audit principles and provide financial analysis, financial reporting, and federal accounting support to federal clients. Assist federal clients with development, sustainment, and monitoring of internal controls. Perform a wide variety of data gathering, research, and analysis tasks to identify and resolve issues and trends impeding client audit goals and objectives. Apply knowledge of the funding, budget execution, cash management, financial reporting, and other operational activities within the DoD to recommend process improvement actions and risk mitigation methods. Provide support in developing high quality work products and deliverables, including working papers, responses to audit requests, corrective action plans, and client briefs. Coordinate with the project lead to ensure the timely completion of tasks and deliverables within specified due dates. Demonstrate exceptional client service by maintaining a solution-oriented disposition and professional demeanor.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with DoD or federal financial management

-Experience with DoD financial systems, business and accounting processes, or internal controls

-Experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

-Ability to commute to the DC Metro Area

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business

-Certified Public Accounting License or 150 credits for eligibility to sit for the CPA exam

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the Department of the Navy

-Experience with assessing, substantiating, and reconciling financial transactions 

-Experience with performing financial statement audits for federal entities

-Knowledge of the DoD FMR, OMB Circular A-123, TFM, or FIAR Guidance

-Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment and be an effective teaming partner

-Ability to demonstrate flexibility and innovation in ambiguous situations

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-PMP, CDFM, CIA, or CGFM Certification
