Audit Readiness Consultant, Mid

Key Role:

Support the team in the assessment of financial systems compliance with Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) requirements and ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation. Verify assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation and complete audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings. Appraise the adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires and recommending enhancements to policies and procedures. Communicate audit findings by preparing reports and discussing findings with auditees. Comply with FIAR requirements by studying existing and new security legislation, recommending enforcement and adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Prepare special audit and control reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operating information and trends. Audit financial, control, or operating records and data to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of systems.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with accounting, auditing, or financial management

-1 year of experience with increasing responsibility as a team leader or first level supervisor

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint

-Knowledge of logistics procedures and processes for financial management

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

 Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with FIAR requirements preferred

-Experience with supporting audits

-Experience in the FIAR community a plus

-Knowledge of DoD working capital funds, financial management practices, or business processes preferred

-Knowledge of A-123, GAAP, GAAS, or similar accounting preferred

-Ability to excel in a culture with a high degree of ambiguity

-Possession of excellent interpersonal and client-facing consulting skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

-CPA License or PMP, CDFM, CIA, or CGFM Certification preferred
