Audit Readiness Consultant, Senior

Key Role:

Support a team for the assessment of financial systems compliance with Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) requirements and ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation. Verify assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation and complete audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings. Appraise the adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires and recommend enhancements to policies and procedures.  Communicate audit findings by preparing reports and discussing findings with auditees. Comply with FIAR requirements by studying existing and new security legislation, recommend enforcement and adherence to requirements, and advise management on needed actions. Prepare special audit and control reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operating information and trends. Audit financial, control, operating, or other records and data to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of systems.


Basic Qualifications:

-12+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, logistics, or financial management with at least 3+ of those years of experience with increasing responsibility as a team leader or first-level supervisor

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint

-Experience in working with FIAR requirements

-Knowledge of logistics procedures and processes as it relates to financial management

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting


 Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with supporting audits

-Experience in the FIAR community a plus

-Knowledge of DoD working capital funds, financial management practices, or business processes preferred

-Knowledge of A-123, GAAP, GAAS, or similar accounting preferred

-Ability to excel in a culture with a high degree of ambiguity

-Possession of excellent client-facing consulting skills

-Possession of excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills

-CPA License, PMP, CDFM, CIA, or CGFM Certification preferred
