Authentication/Authorization Engineer

Key Role:
Act as an authentication or authorization engineer in the program management office (PMO) established to manage the deployment of Cerner Millennium within the Department of Veterans Affairs. Support the EHRM Identity and Access Management, authentication, or authorization workstream lead. Analyze the creation of strategies and plans for integration of multiple IT systems and subsystems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with the implementation of single sign-on, federal, public key infrastructure, Smart Cards, PBAC, RBAC, ABAC, XACML, SPML, REST, and LDAP

-Experience with introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruptions and mitigating risks

-Experience with IT health organizations, including HIMSS

-Knowledge of IT interoperability and standards development organizations and their relationship to DoD and VA HER initiatives

-Ability to foster relationships with DoD and VA interoperability and health IT government leads

-BA or BS degree in CS, Engineering, or Mathematics and 15+ years of experience in a professional work environment or 23+ years of experience in a professional work environment in lieu of a degree
