Biotechnology and Biosecurity Briefing Coordinator

Key Role:

Draw on fundamental comprehension of biological and engineering concepts to assist with briefing creation for senior executive service (SES)-level clients overseeing a large biotechnology and biosecurity research and development (R&D) portfolio. Work in a team environment, gathering information from diverse teams of subject matter experts to prepare presentations and documents highlighting the most recent technological breakthroughs. Impact national investments in biotechnology by enabling effective client communication of scientific concepts to a variety of audiences, including prominent researchers, government leaders, and senior military personnel. Serve as a strategic consultant to government science and technology R&D clients, providing strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior-level decision makers. Coordinate with external stakeholders to assist with transition and commercialization of successful R&D projects.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences via presentations and written documents

-Experience with recent biotechnology R&D advances in one or more of the following fields: synthetic biology, gene editing, brain-machine interfaces, and bioinformatics

-Ability to show high Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency

-Ability to coordinate across project teams and clients

-Ability to learn about additional biotechnology areas beyond the preferred area

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BS degree in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with applying biotechnology advances to improving biosecurity

-Experience with science and technology policy

-Experience with basic graphics or industrial design concepts

-Experience with R&D program design, implementation, and oversight, including cost and schedule

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Active security clearance

-MS degree in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related biology field
