Business Analytics and Tools Engineer

Key Role:

Serve as a member of the commercial business operations team and use disparate systems and data sources to manage an ever-evolving set of problem-solving scenarios while developing new dashboards or tools, using and iteratively improving existing dashboards or tools and performing ad hoc analyses. Report to the functional lead for analytics and tools with a number of on-going high-visibility initiatives, all involving the development and improvement of tools and analyses for the commercial business leadership team. Take initial guidance and proactively identify and recommend alternative solutions to business challenges. Collaborate with business analysts to find patterns and relationships in data and use data visualization techniques to identify and communicate key business trends. Conduct predictive modeling, statistics, trend analysis, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and identify the right internal and external data to be analyzed, to explain or predict customer behavior, and solve a variety of business problems. Support building predictive models using data, test the model on results outside of the sample size, and verify the model in the real world. Participate in management reviews, including presenting and interpreting analysis results, summarizing conclusions, and recommending a course of action and implement recommendations and operational policies.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with data visualization software, including Tableau

-Experience with Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including Pivot Tables, macros, formulas, and working with large data sets

-Experience with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis

-Experience with working in a fast-paced and results-oriented work environment

-Knowledge of statistical analysis

-Ability to learn new software systems with minimal guidance

-Ability to take general guidance, using it to synthesize specific requirements and effectively communicate these requirements to other team members

-Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Customer Relationship Management software, including Microsoft Dynamics or SalesForce

-Experience with Professional Services Automation (PSA) platforms, including OpenAir

-Experience with database design, including SQL querying and data normalization

-Experience with project management, including agile and waterfall

-Experience with software development and IT Service Management

-Experience with designing and implementing project or resource management software solutions

-Knowledge of business management principles, including accounting, strategy, and human resources

-Ability to perform statistical analyses and predictive modeling with proficiency in related software, including R

-Possession of excellent organizational skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BS degree in Technology, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics preferred
