Business Process and Transformation Consultant

Key Role:

Apply knowledge of the principles of computer and information science to the advancement of life sciences research, health professions education, public health, and care, including informatics, clinical informatics, and public health informatics. Use expertise to advise on developing an informatics strategy, technical and business requirements, semantics and harmonization, scientific computing, electronic epidemiology, computational science, and specific data type expertise. Provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in project management or an IT consulting firm

-5+ years of experience with managing the use of process improvement, reengineering methodologies, case management, business process management methodologies , or principles to conduct process modernization projects and meet project objectives.

-Experience with transitioning existing organizations or project teams to ensure the enterprise-wide integration of reengineering efforts and application of best practices, including digital business practices

-Experience with performing impact analysis scenarios and gap analysis activities to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, obsolescence, and technology support gaps

-Experience with planning, designing, and conducting studies, including risk analyses, contingency planning, and feasibility studies

-Experience with recommending, developing, and implementing policies, procedures, and test plans for ensuring quality in a system development environment supporting large databases and applications

-Experience with analyzing existing business processes, scenarios, activities, architecture, and information flows

-Experience with decomposing processes into activities

-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree required


Additional Qualifiations:

-3+ years of experience with business process reengineering, organizational change management, strategic communications, Lean Six Sigma, strategic planning, organizational design, integrated master scheduling, performance management, or overhead optimization

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Excel

-Experience with maintaining responsibility for quality assurance practices and helping to ensure the completion and accuracy of system documentation

-Experience with supporting federal health clients preferred

-Ability to be a self-starter, team player, and leader in a fast-paced environment

-Possession of excellent data gathering and analysis skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Lean Six Sigma, BPMN, or PMP Certification
